Recently i've tried using my Jetta's aux in feature, but to no avail. I can switch the media to aux in, but whenever I plug in my smartphone to the auxilliary port, no sound comes out. I've tried several different cords and every other feature of my sound system seems to work perfectly...

i have a 2003 Jetta GL with the original factory radio. It stopped working out of no where and i know that it is a common problem. my question is can i replace my 2003 radio with the radio from a 2008 jetta. they are both double din but i am not sure if the size is the same or if the wiring...
