jetta mk3 speedometer 95

so my speedometer is not working it worked when i bought the car now the mph and rmp thing dosent work i dont really care about how fast im going but i need the rmp one to work any one might know the problem ps. when i turn on the car the rmp gauge is buzzing for like 30 seconds then stops
