Its a 1.8t what do you expect

Its like driving a 1.8 reg car until that turbo kicks its butt into gear to pick up the slack..
My 2.0 jumps off the line for about like a sec but then the lack of HP drags me down lol

In order for your Turbo to "spool" up, or create boost, it needs to turn, this is created off of the back pressure in the exhaust . . . if you're looking for power off the line, you have to "launch", this is not dumping the clutch, its different, you have to know how to do it correctly, if you dont you're gonna cease your throw-out bearing and your clutch will not release properly.

[teacher]Yeah the 1.8 Turbo you will find a little flat on take off as has already been said it feeds off the exhaust back pressure so if you havnt got the revs there to start off with you wont have the HP however i wouldent recomend dumping the clutch at 3000 constantly youll have good fun doing it but itll cost you in the future

The turbo works off the heat and gasses in the exhaust stream - not the back pressure - otherwise people who mod their cars would put smaller than stock exhaust pipes on - not bigger ones. The purpose of the bigger pipes is to allow the gasses past the turbine impeller faster, and with less restriction. Burning more fuel will make hotter exhaust gasses, causing the turbine to spool up more, creating more boost.
