Try to find someone with VAG-COM in your local area. You might be throwing "soft" codes. It would be cheaper than buying parts to see if that fixes it.
03 jetta problem..someone please help!
Hey everybody, i need some help. I was driving my jetta on the highway when my temperature gauge went all the way up to the hottest temperature. The car didnt overheat though. I brought it to the mechanic up the block, he replaced a sencer and i think the thermastat, but that didnt fix the problem. Now, they don't know whats wrong with it. Instead of bringing it to volkswagen to pay a fortune, can someone please help me?

wrong. The software is free.a vag com isnt as common as you make it out to be, from what i know about it you need a dedicated lap top and about 1g to lay down just for the software (they have cheaper versions but the one that does it all is about a grand)
The cable from ross-tech.com is $350 for the one I got. http://www.ross-tech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=VCHUC&Category_Code=VAGCOM It works on all OBDII cars.
I have let people borrow cables and just download the software to their laptop. If you don't want to buy one, you could check for someone local here http://vag-tool.kicks-ass.net/locator.aspx
