Similar situation, but I only have had mine around for about a week. I will try and remember to look more specifically at the car. I remember seeing a oil cooler, but not sure about a aftercooler .
Really, my honest opinion. I am still looking into is the vw dealership had a brochure regarding performance parts for the jetta. I took one and can try to find and scan it in. I don't think I would approach an aftercooler until outside of support. I would stick to cat-backs - something like that. bolt-ons. [and really the vw stuff if it turns out - see below].
I left with a open question about if the installation of such vw sponsored parts would break the warrentee for the effected area i.e. installation of the lowered springs would mean if the bushings/shocks/struts somehow wore out as a direct effect of the springs, then they would still service the car's suspension.
I will call tomorrow about it [I need some status on a seal for one of the window lights as well]. I looked and can't find mention about this on their site.
The boost gauge is the same story there too. I think the best install location is forward of the gear shift underneath radio [outside of eye range though]. gauge pods won;t work since airbags in the pillars etc. The install would be a hack I think, but I haven't looked to see if it would involve a drill or irrepairable interior harm.
I will see if I can throw my autotap on it tonight home [not sure if it even has a OBD2] and see if the boost value as interpreted by the 'puter comes up.

Your 2.0T engine has a very large intercooler. IT is the same size as the radiator. In order, you have: Condensor, Intercooler, Radiator, engine. They are all the same size.

Your turbo is a 1 bar turbo, meaning it makes 1 bar of pressure...or 14 lbs boost max.

This pic sorta illustrates what nitroscope8 is saying albeit crappily [new word]. As taken from the grill:

From what he said the aftercooler [I know VW calls it a intercooler, but the older engineer schooling in me won't let me call it one :)] is the one inbetween the thin black condensor, but before the larger blockish radiator which can be viewed from the other side. This was taken without stripping the lower or upper enclosures.
I can see why you might think this as a good area to modify since I would believe the aftercooler would get pretty damn heat soaked sitting in-between there, but the size constraint might hurt ya. Exotic alloys or something maybe.
