09 TDI dealer markups

Any one get an 09 Clean Diesel yet, if so, what did you pay for it and what was the dealer markup on yours? I'm looking to add a TDI sportWagen to the family, Corona VW told me it would be around 27K and around 30K out the door w/ just DSG and sun roof. The dealer mark up here is 1500, for the TDI anyway. I feel so weird paying over sticker for a car.

Just bought one last night. Jetta SportWagen TDI Salsa Red. Our dealership was great. We paid what was on the sticker. 26,939.00 w/power sunroof, 6-speed tiptronic, protection kit, & ipod adapter. I think we got a fair deal. Plus they really got the price lower by giving us a great price on a trade-in.

I do know the other dealership in our area was marking them up like 2k more.

I managed to talk my Dealer down to sticker too; one dealer was actually asking 5000 over sticker. I ordered a sportwagen in candy white and beige interior. I got the sunroof, DSG, protection kit and NAV for just under 31K.
Payed sticker price in San Diego at Drew VW. Wife loves it. Out the door @ 26K

paid sticker for my jetta tdi sportwagon
I paid sticker for my sedan as well. They usually start anywhere from 2-5k markup. Just email a few places ahead of time and the internet sales guys will usually give you the sticker price. I practically had to walk to get them to give it to me for that price though.

I also got the 5 year/100k warranty for $1600 which they will usually do just if you ask them.

The only thing I don't like about my car is the stupid iPod adapter. It doesn't fit my ipod very well and it has terrible integration. I have to pull the ipod out every time I want to change an artist or playlist. I wish they designed the stereo a little better.

I really want to swap it out for just the AUX jack, but the dealership has been less then helpful in this realm.
Just picked up our Jetta this week, platinum gray metallica, with DSG triptronic tranny. Ended up paying $24K even plus TTL. No sunroof or nav. Included window tinting, paint protection, and I Pod jack(which I will never use). Sticker was $24,900, was told that the window tint and paint protection was $1K, and got them to drop $900 of that.
After totaling my 2005.5 TDI sedan last Friday, I went shopping for a new one today. The dealers are talking 24,970 w/o TTL for DSG w/sunroof. My consumer report bottom line prices says $22,236 is the best starting point. NOT a wagon, however, a sedan. We'll see what they say to counter offer. Best dealer perk I've found so far - $21 oil changes after the 36k / 3 yr free maintenance, for as long as I own the car. You can't buy the filter and 2 quarts of oil for that much!

Make sure they use the right oil at that price. Oil is very important in these cars. The following link is for 2004-2006 cars make sure you get the right oil. Check out: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/engineoilpump.htm

Is the IRS tax credit still at $1,300 as of February 2009? As stated in the tax code, the amount ratchets down as more Jetta TDIs are sold and at 60,000 TDIs sold, it goes away.

Looking at numbers I ran some months ago, the TDI SportWagen costs $2,241 more, but is partially offset by the current tax credit. Add in the higher cost of diesel fuel, which is partially offset by superior TDI fuel milage which is reduced by having to change a timing belt and I figure the TDI begins to break even in its third or fourth year of ownership at 15,000 Miles/Year of driving. Plus, we tend to keep our vehicles for 10 to 15 years and I figure/hope the TDI's engine will last a long time. What other elements have y'all worked into the cost analysis? Thanks.
I just bought my TDI last week and the dealer where I got mine had a 5000-6000 markup. There were going going to sell mine for 29000. I was able to get mine out the door for 23500.
I am new here, what's this about a $ 1,300. tax credit on a TDI?
I bought an 09 TDI Sedan today with automatic and sunroof. MSRP of 24,740. My price was 21,720 - then I got an additional $250 off with a coupon printed off oprah.com. Did a lot of price shopping, it seemed like a great deal.
I just bought my bright silver 09 Jetta TDI automatic with sunroof with alloy wheels & ipod adapter for $23,000. Have not driven it much yet, looking forward to week-end road trips. Still getting used to the DSG around town. I smile just thinking about the car :).
Don't you already have an AUX jack in your console between the seats? I bought an auto AUX cord for $1.56 on DelExtreme.com and use it all the time for my MP3 player (not an iPod). The only problem is you only get audio, no integration of the displays.
bought our sedan two weeks ago, were told we had to pay sticker and ended up getting bluetooth and ipod adaptor for a couple hundred less than if they were on the sticker - long story but they told us the car was preequipped with them, then when we got there found out neither was on the car. After quite an argument, we ended up getting both installed on the car at a discount, but not without much aggravation.
Re: 10 TDI dealer markups

Paid MSRP for the first shipment of 2010s in Las Vegas. TDI sedan with the spoiler and floor mats, nothing else. Wife loves the car but is wishing she had gotten the automatic instead of the 6M. In a 400 mile trip including elevation changes from 1000' to 10000' to 3000' back to 10000' to 3000' it averaged 41mpg. Most of the trip was 80mph. Once it was in sixth gear it pulled every hill between Las Vegas and Ceder City with out downshifting and could accelerate up them when traffic allowed. Awesome car at this point.

Wife still would rather drive her '07 Rubicon unlimited
