1992 jetta carat power window problem

just bought a 1992 jetta carat with power windows and only the front driver side window and rear passenger side window work could there be something wrong with the other two windows besides the window motors

Pull a bad window's switch and swap it with one you know works to see if its the switch.

The next thing to check is that somtimes the wires in the door can break off where they flex at the hinge boot. Peel it back to have a look, If they're still there you will have to remove the door card and have a look a the motor on the regulator.

i tried the switches and the wires in the doors look ok, what other vw's can i take the window motors from that will work with a 92 jetta, because i looked in a couple junkyards and all of the mk2 jettas that i saw had manual windows

Jetta and Golf A2 cars use the same window regulators. You can buy them new, and they're not that expensive.
