i was looking at this 97 jetta and i looked up the vin and it said it was a jetta jazz? does anybody know what that is??

The Jazz is a specialty trim of the Jetta. It is along the same lines as a Jetta Trek (the one that came with a bike rack and bike), but the Jazz features a "high-powered stereo system with a trunk-mounted CD changer."

I actually have a jetta jazz. and its exactly as he described it. It pretty much just has the Volkswagen top of the line stereo.

i have a jetta jazz too that i just recently bought. I swapped out the old stereo and i put in a more modern one and the speakers are really good bro! 10 speakers total in the car. 2 on the door, 2 on the dash, tweaters on the rear doors, 2 rear speakers and 2 more tweeters just about the rear speakers. The bass and treble bumps real good man. And im about to install a 4 channel amp a friend of mine gave me as a gift and lets see how it sounds.. i'll try to post up some pics but it wont be till the weekend

Well I don't have the stock Headunit installed any longer but I still have the speakers for now. I'll try to post pics here Ina a lil bit

I may be looking at one of these to replace my 97 GLS, but the dealer who took it in says the radio lights up, but doesn't seem to work - could this be a lockout problem? How do you unlock a radio code? I don't know if the CD changer works and this is a hike from my house. Only a little cancer on the driver's door.
