Vicky, use Odin to flash a stock recovery, put your phone in download mode by removing battery, hold both volume buttons while inserting the battery, and continue holding while you plug your usb in. Just Google Odin

That crap about iPhones beating S3's in benchmarks is total garbage. That mainly used from review sites to get hits, and stir crap up. If you actually look at a bunch of benchmark pulls of an s3, its way higher than the iP5. They usually take the worst benchmark score of the s3 and use that to compare.

This argument is fairly simple. Get an iPhone and have to use iTunes? **** that. iTunes is the worst fucking program in the world and for that simple fact I will never own an iphone.

Although I do agree iTunes is not the best music program, that I know most of you would consider to be an understatement. I can think of a few software programs that are worse. Furmark being one of them (GPU stress testing software)

Don't forget I tunes charges now lol

jailbreak, dont pay for ****.

I really could care less which phone is best because in the end my iphone 4s with cydia is the best possible phone for me, its the perfect amount of customization and everything is free, i will never knock free haha. ive played with tons of droids and they all seem great, but as a designer ive been using apple software my whole life and its very friendly and the language is consistent through all its products and i love that.

I don't think either is better. Both ecosystems work well just different strokes man lol. I'm an IT specialist with focus on networking and network security. I love linux and all of the options it gives me, which is the same reason I love android it's open If I dont like something I can change it. If I so choose I can build an entirely new ui, if my phone seems laggy I can modify how the cpu handles tasks, if the carrier or manufacturer puts apps I dont need on my phone I have the power to remove them. No many will never do half of what I have done with android, but it works for me. There was no learning curve it was simple android even early on was simple to use to me ( started on 2.2 froyo) everything is laid out logically there isn't anything difficult about it. People get that impression because they see root users who think they are Hax0rs  talking about flashing roms and stuff. In reality stock android is about as simple as it gets.

yeah I don't how to do any of that ****. that's why I love my jailbreak, it simplifies the tweaking of an already perfect system for me on my iPhone. couldn't be happier. I know my way around a car can pull it apart and put it back together, but the second the electrical work starts up, I call in my engineer friend ha, I couldn't even wire up my beetle, and it really doesn't get much simpler than that.

I make it a point in my life to learn anything I can. I do computer work, ive worked on cars, ive done construction, mechanical services for industrial hvac equipment, engineering ( for bas systems planning), im a soldier. My philosophy is if I dont know I need to learn it I'm 23 and refuse to be like 80% of my generation.

Def like you philosophy, I kinda the same way... don't like to just sit and watch someone do something... I rather learn how to do it so I can do it "my way" but this whole phone talk just opened my eyes.. I didn't know any of this could be done to the UI but am now interested. Do you have any tips in regards to resources for a noob?

So the last 2 or 3 days my phone has been a giant pile of ****. It freezes constantly even when trying to open the text message screen. Been looking to get a new phone, thinking about the Droid RAZR Maxx HD. Thoughts?

Just rooted my phone for the first time (I'm new to this) and flashed Jedi Mind Trick (ICS)... pretty cool although the only thing I do kinda miss is the stock Swype... currently using a thirdparty app...
