Hey folks, lately my 2.0 has been having a misfire issue again. It was happening in the spring but then i changed the coil pack and spark plugs, now into november it just started again. I noticed the metal tip of one of the spark plug wires was coming apart a bit, so put some electrical tape over it, I doubt it will solve the problem, but figured it would get me through for a lil bit anyway.
Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated

change wires and spark plugs again and make sure its done properly.....i had it happen to me and it solved my problem and did not encounter anything else from engine compartments. ALSO make sure you use the little clips that are on the intake manifold to hold down the wires and follow the routes onto the coil pack. sometimes the wires will get hung on something and oddly pull off the spark plug (happened to 1st cylinder to me).

My check engine light was on, mechanic checked it and these were the codes.
P0327 knock sensor low circuit low input bank 1 or sensor 1
P0420 catalyst efficiency
I had the catalytic converter replaced and had both knock sensors replaced.

Check engine light came on within 10 miles of both being fixed.
Now codes that pop up are PO 304, and I can't remember the other numbers but when I checked the book it's for cyclinder misfires in 1, 2 & 4. As well as the knock sensor code again.
I have a 2001 vw jetta 1.8 turbo. I read other blogs and it mentioned something about the coil recalls possibly as a problem, which I took care of with the dealer when registering the car last year after purchase from a private owner. Haven't had any problems until now.
I'm a female, if that helps explain that I'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to car problems. I'm just trying to research on my own before walking into a mechanic speaking foreign language to me. Haha

My previous vehicles have all been serviced and maintained by a trustworthy mechanic but he isn't comfortable working on VW's, and recommends I go to a specialist so it's as if I'm starting all over finding someone I can trust.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Morgan

No harm done, I noticed you had a low post count. It can just get aggravating when you (speaking generally) try to get help and someone steals your thread lol.
