I just got my '08 Jetta (2.5 engine) back from its 20,000 mile oil change, and it looks like they put in conventional motor oil (Castrol GTX) instead of the synthetic it was running (Castrol SLX). Bottom line: do I need to go back and have them re-change it? Or will I be okay running on the GTX for the next 3,000 miles and then changing back to synthetic? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Actually I believe Boost has answered this several times. No you don't need to worry about it. Newer engines with the newer seal materials don't have those issues.
As long as you didn't PAY for synth there's no prob. But ***** em out royal for not following instructions on the next visit.
