What is out there for the 2.0L 8V for headers? I'm just starting to looking into them and am really finding very little... I'm dumbfounded that neuspeed doesnt have any.

OK.. so the couple inches of flexi pipe between the exhaust manifold and the header pipe on my car finally broke.... My header quest was stimulated by this.

I did come across one set of headers for the Jetta MKIII
They are made by Pace Setter and actually cheaper than an OEM style replacement.

I have found them on a couple different sites.

http://www.racepages.com/products/?...=mode+matchallpartial&N=4294967261+2312&Nty=1

I just tried to order them. I'll update when I get them and have them installed.:D

EDIT: I guess I should mentioned before, from the dealer the part that broke would be $580, cheapest aftermarket was $230. The headers run about $160, I picked mine up for $146

Waist of time is subjective, in this case its the most cost effective method of repairing my exhaust leak.

As for power gains, with any engine, its going to depend on what other mods are in place. I may only gain roughly 5% more HP.. but down the road that 5% would would be a lot larger. Especially if I can dig up one of those NeuSpeed superchargers. :)

Vento, thanks! She is pretty clean, especially for living in the north east.

o i didnt realize you were doing this in termss of a repair. if you were going to spend the money on buying headers i would say spend it on something more usefull but if its because of a repair than i agree with you. i personally wouldnt buy headers from ebay but if you do have to replace it why not replace it with something better. and i feel yah i live in MA, i havnt washed my car once this winter:-Xahha. but id look into some other headers over the ebay ones. good luck with everything man!

Yeah, I picked up a set from autoanything.com. I had a 10% off coupon and free shipping. They are being shipped directly from the pace setters factory in Arizona.

I agree with you about ebay, unless I can put an exact part number on what I'm buying, it really sketches me out.

OK well.. For the record.. the PaceSetter Headers are decent.. Look good.. They Delete the EGR when you install them (I have yet to see if thats going to be an issue)

They sound MEAN! And talk about a top end gain.. Holy ****.

ok well idk if this is the same case since it is completely different than a vw but a 84 monte carlo i used to have had a EGR valve on it and when it failed i had my local exhaust shop weld the valve open and i didnt notice much of a difference. From what ive read, EGR valves only help your car when it is cold and mine seemed to work fine in the winter and it of course was a carbed car. Idk take it for what it is cuz i know there are quite a few differences between good old american muscle and german engineering...just some food for thought. :D

Yeah the EGR is an Emissions recirculation deal... I have no place to connect it to .. or I would.

I did pop a code for it.. but I think I have that figured out.. we will see.
