I have a 2002 Jetta MKIV, 1.8T. I have had it for about two years now and I am now having an oil leak issue and have had a check engine issue for a little bit now.

The oil leak was just a loose oil filter mount that I fixed, but now I am losing a crazy amount of oil from the front and rear of the engine (near the top on the back). My coolant is still nice and clean so I don't believe its a head gasket issue. Any suggestions?

My check engine light comes on and off. The code is reading either an 02 sensor or the catalytic converter. I have changed both 02 sensors and the issue stopped for a while, but is now still coming on and off. I have considered dry gassing, but haven't done it yet. Any suggestions?

I would check the valve cover, the oil line to the turbo and near the oil filter and your oil return line from the turbo to the oil pan.

I would also check in your intercooler for oil. Which would mean the turbo seals are going and could be dumping oil.

Thanks KiDGiB. I think I got the oil leak sorted out. There was a little too much in there so I changed it and fixed the oil filter seal again. My coolant pump broke too. So I took care of that when I was in there too.
