im new to the forum, i have had a jetta 03 1.8t for 2 years and was thinking of making it faster around 2 30 - 250 hp but do not want to hurt the gas economy much at all any hints

you'll be very close to completely maxing that 1.8 out...... I would start with K&N filter/intake... and exhaust to get the oxygen flowing through it....... and go from there... got any pics.....

You can find some nice exhausts for cheaper than 1200... you'll have left over for other parts..... a good site to check is http://thepartsbin.com .... all quality parts free shipping and not so pricey......

If you're looking for a quiet one i suggest eurosport they make an awsome silenced performance set up..
