hey, im new to the site, ive been looking at getting a jetta, i currently own an 02 civic lx, which is pretty slow, ive been looking at the mkiv 1.8t and was wondering how it stacked up with the 02 civic? also what about the different trims that it has?

no comparison...the trims on the jettas all really are the same except for some features...then you have your GLI trim which usually has more valves per cylinder and is all around the sh*t.

The civic has a 2 (point) slow though doesn't it?...... That would explain everything...... Civics aren't bad but they are ricey..... V-Dubs are different in that aspect.....

I'm thinking you will be very satisfied with the V-Dub 1.8T...... I know a couple of 1.8T's that are sick nasty brotha..... pushing like 10lbs worth of turbo.....

Anyways, I hope you definetly look into the Dub..... and welcome to Jetta Junkies..

Also...... The GLI is a sick nasty option.... Comes with the 1.8T, 2.0 16V or the VR6 24V all good options....

depends what year of the model you choose..the older older 1.8t's are faster than the older vr6's by older i mean anything 2001 and under i believe..the new vr6's are faster than the 1.8t's though

the old old VR6's hall ass..... My friend has a 88 GTI with a vr6 shaved heads, chipped, full borla exhaust port and polished... sick nasty car......
