Hey what's up guys? I own a 2004 vw jetta gls 1.8t and I was just wondering if you know how much boost I'm pushing stock? I also heard that an easy way to gain hp is by turning up my stock turbo boost just a little. That said, does anyone know how much I should actually turn it up by without blowing my engine or whatever? I appreciate Any responses!!! Thanks a lot!!!

Im not a mkIV guy, but I though stock was somewhere around 6-9 lbs. As far as turning up the boost, its not really safe at all to just turn up the boost without adjusting fuel or other variables. Look into getting your ecu flashed/chiped/tuned whatever you want to call it. It will be a good power gain and ups the boost right. Look into apr or unitronics. They both make good stuff.

About 7 psi stock and 11 psi with the awp 1.8t. If you want more power then a tune is the way to go... As stated you can't just turn up boost. Most of the time your car will just recognize it as overboost and throw your ass into limp mode. The correct way to increase your power is to get a tune, this will effectively raise your boost pressure with the correct fuel/air mapping and timing. With about any tune out there right now they can safely push 19~22psi on the stock ko3.
