I just bought a 2004 Jetta 2.0 automatic. It usually runs great, but sometimes it will stall then start right up again. Sometimes I will be driving and it stops getting fuel and a few seconds later fuel flow returns to normal. I was thinking fuel filter or worst case fuel pump. I would like to know what's causing it to happen so I know exactly what to replace.

Any error codes, or do you have an OBDII reader? I had this issue with my 2009 when the cam/crankshaft sensor was failing, and again when my throttle body position sensor had low voltage.

I haven't scanned it for any error codes because the check engine light isn't on
