street racing is illegal and dangerous. That being said, people will still do it. To get the best performance your car car deliver you'd need to do a lot of things. However, common early mods include an upgraded intake and exhaust, as well as ecu mods for boost with a turbo engine. Don't underestimate the importance of quality tires as well. Take it to a track if you can.
if you wanna street race, write a will and get a Honda. The jetta is an awesome car, but not for street racing. Plus street racing is stupid and illegal. why don't you get the jetta and tear it up at some SCCA events. it will be a way better rush than red light racing.
Jetta's by far out perform Honda's any day.. any time... No reason to tear up the streets with your jetta, will only break things and such..... Get a honda if you want to push it to the limit of killing it.... they deserve to be drove into the ground..... Jetta's are too 'pretty' to do **** like that..
Now having a fast and high performance jetta is another story... Just take it to the drag strip at events and such.... Upgrade's that are pretty much needed include, Intake, Tires, Suspension, possibly an exhaust system and good brakes are a huge plus.........
I have an 06 jetta gli, Revo stage 2, forge diverter valve, and 3inch downpipe, I race all day every day, just dont beat on it, racing is one thing, beating the **** out of your car is another .
Doesn't seem very smart.... haha..... I will admit I have raced on the Interstate before... but it wasn't planned, a Corrat went flying past me and i just down shifted and followed him at like 100 up the interstate..... but thats the only time... Not a smart idea...
The '06 GLI is a very nice car....... I have the 92.5-93 GLI..... is also a sick car
