nice clean ride. welcome. a good start is to read the NOOB thread at the top of this section. it has tons of great info for new jetta owners. just search around, we have a online retailer reputation write-up, tons of stuff lol.

okay, i read the noob stuff already, that was the first thing i saw lol. ill find the retailer write-up though
well, ill b the first to say congrats on actually reading the noob guide first lol, not too many ppl do. now, im more of a performance first the appearance. most start off with coilover's vw's are known for the stance they can achieve. look into rokkors or racelands for the cheapest sets. also wheels are a nice upgrade, but u have long beaches already, so thats a good start. stay away from the "jdm" style wheels. anythin that starts with enkei, motegi, or OZ is a bad choice imo. my euro wheels include oem audi wheels, miros, tsw, and bbs. also ppl do the joey mod to the headlights, slap some tint on it (if ur state allows it lol) ppl go with the GLI candy cane taillights. some go with a badgeless grille, but get one with a notch filler for better results. avoid the mesh grilles, they look yucky. what motor do u have? so i can help with performance mods alil more?

I have a 1.8T.
and yea, the tail lights are my only tough decision so far. like i like the candy cane ones, but i'd have to get them smoked a little bit. i'm definitely getting 35% in the front and 20% in the back. i want to keep the badge, but make it custom somehow, not sure yet what colors. mesh grilles are AWFUL. i like the stock one

Car looks nice, I love the Long Beaches on MK4's. I wouldn't worry about wheels until you get some of your other stuff done because they already look good. Since you said you wanted the candycanes smoked a little bit, you could always just get GLI taillights, which are the exact same but with the whites smoked (IMO look better than candycanes anyway).

Dont do coilovers without spacers. (if you want the euro look).

And someone above said GHL exhaust. Although I know they make a decent product, from my experience through friends' vehicles, I would stay away from it. Their downpipes crack A LOT, and they don't have the greatest customer service. That is just my experience though, perhaps yours would be different.
