the questions are..... having the apr stage 1 tune, would it still get some gains with a ko4?

the turbo itself... can you just take a used one off of a stock vehicle?

where can i get a decent priced manifold?

other than the inlet pipe, what else will i need?

do i need outlet pipe?

just a few things on my mind. im trying to do this cheaper with out getting raped for an expensive ass kit. thanks for any information in advance.

Your gonna need to get the ko4 program. APR gives existing customers a discount on it.
Yes you can just take the turbo off a stock vehicle with the same engine configuration. A turbo off a transverse motor won't mount to a longitudinal motor and vice versa.
Idk about the manifold or what other piping you will need besides a new downpipe. You can check ecstuning.com, ngpracing.com, or goapr.com (even though they are overpriced)

when you say "your gonna need to get the ko4 program" are you saying that it wont run to its full potential or that it wont run at all?

all i can help you out with is you are going to probably need a stage 2 program for that ko4
I think it might run, but not very well. All the major tunning companies sell a flash specifically for the ko4 (different then stage 2).

I would not run it for long with out the proper tune... If you want more power your gonna need to do the same upgrades that you do for the stock turbo. In fact you do all the same upgrades no matter what turbo you have and the only thing that varies between them is the size and material you use for say your intercooler, downpipe, TIP, etc.

If you have stage one all you will need is stage 2 upgrade, downpipe and inlet pipe, it is reccomended to do 3" maf and injectors as well as a 3"turbo back exhaust.

The stage 2 flash at the shop i go to charged me 55$ to upgrade from stage 1 to 2, so it shouldnt cost that much.

It will run with stage one tune but the fueling map isnt designed for it.

Stage 2 is different from the ko4 tune... All stage 2 does over stage 1 is remove the check engine code for the o2 sensors when you get a larger exhaust...

yeah im not worried about that. as a matter of fact, i was having the p0420 (bad cat) cel for the longest time. after i installed the 3" DP with cat, i cleared it and it hasnt been back since then. its reduced to stock diameter with stock resonator. straight DP was way too loud. now if the cel just stays away until feburary so i can get it inspected ill be good to go.
