i almost got cheap ol discount tire rims just to get rid of the "stock look" but i'm loving them more and more! I normally hate rims that dont have any lip but was wondering if they're are any safe alternatives other than BBS wheels which are as y'all like to say "played" lol :2funny:

Why would you want to get wheels that are played? Haha. Check out this thread for some of our favorite wheel set ups.
cool thanks, I'm still in pursuit of some summer rims and tires
Besides the BBS's, the Longbeaches are real nice OEM rims, and they make any Jetta look better IMO. Don't get me wrong, those HRE (P40 or R40 I think) 18" monoblocks are a pretty hot alternative if you had the $$$ to blow...lol
No matter if you throw on a set of $4000 BBS or $400 Longbeaches it's still not gonna look right at stock height. And by no means am I bashing your car, so don't read it like that. I'm just saying to get any of those wheels to look dope the first thing to stance is your ride height, then work the offset which might be with spacers, or a lower offset wheel. I can't count how many times I've rolled past a car where the owner dumped a ton of money into a set of wheels but it looks bad cause they don't understand all the other elements that go into stancing a car properly. And by no means I'm I claiming to be the stance police since I'm still trying to dial mine in as well. Just trying to help give you something to think about before you spend your hard earned money.

Personally, I'd keep your LBs and look at suspension and spacers... It'll get you heading into the right direction.

I think you should post a pic of your car low on LB's to give him inspiration.

Believe me I want some coils just like every other jetta owner lol but chicago just won't allow it with these roads! I don't even have the gli lip on yet and it still hits the ground every time I drive into my school parking lot, not to mention my oil pan which looks like hell from our speed bumps hahaha

I still wish I could just do maybe an inch or two tho :'^)

I love in Iowa. Our winters are ridiculous. Our roads are terrible, terrible, terrible. Im lowered almost 2 inches now, and going to throw on some coilovers this week. Put some M-A-N on it and do work. It'll just make you a more cautious driver ;)
I think we need a thread dedicated to terrible roads lol
look at my car same paint same rims. mine is lowerd about 2 inches
i have tokico shocks and 20th aniversary gti struts
Ok, I want to do coils but if I do they would have to be quality which costs. I am still considering a spring kit as a short term solution lol
