At 3pm I will be a proud new owner of a 2006 Jetta TDI Package 1. I actually wanted the Package 2, but the mark up was outrageous. I figure that I can perform the mods I want since I didn't get them with the vehicle.

The first of these is dual climate control. The obvious starting point would be the HVAC controller in the dash, as well as the dash trim around the radio and controller. I believe a different blower/evaporator/damper system with different ducting will also be needed.

This may seem extreme, but I'm not new to the modding world. I can easily perform the work, but I need to ensure that all parts necessary are accounted for before I start. This will be my wife's daily and I'd hate to deprive her of it for very long.

Has anyone done this yet? If so, what parts were necessary? Do you have any part numbers? Is the wiring harness the same?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm interested in this too. Anyone know where I can find information on the climate control system?

Even if I cant do dual zone, I'd really like the nicer climate switches on the higher end models. I have an S. Would this just be a swap of the switch and the bezel?

Thanks

I forgot about this forum. A few months after that post I came across a 2005 Lexus LS430 and dropped the TDI while the gas prices were so high. Then my wife got tired of bending over to put our daughter in the car seat, so we ended up with a new Odyssey... God, I hate minivans. I bought everything (I think) to do the swap sans re-programming. I never got around to doing it before I sold the car though. All of the stuff is still in my garage too. :(
