ok well got a quick question regarding the wheel hop, is there a certain tire pressure thats best for track? I always get them to 35psi,
16's? You should be running a lot better than that with a chip and cams... What RPM are you launching??
i dont have a vr6, but i went 14.57, 14.60, and 14.62 with justa SRI and cat-back. u should hit 14's no problem. lower the tire pressure. just go down and steps and mess around with it. u almost have the same hp stock as mine. i race all the time at the track, so i had sometime to adjust my tires and stuff. i have 15" tires with just all season tires, i run them with alot of alot pressure out of them, they look like they're goin flat actually. if u running normal tires, just do a small burnout, get the water off and stuff, sitting there and smokin tires is worse on normal tires, unless u have street radials. hope this helps.......

yeah i know I should be running 14s, and I don't sit and burn the rubber, just do a quick burnout and done...but haven't messed with tire pressure, I run with 35psi, im running on my 17" tires all season as well....

35psi seems way to high to me. if ur runnin 17's, id guess u have low-profile tires, u really can run really low psi safely imo. if u could get a set of stock 15's with performance tires, thats the best way to go. then u can run really low psi in the tires becuz u have the larger sidewall. that would b a really good setup for a true 1/4mile time. i noticed i get alot less wheel hop with 15's instead of runnin 18's and i have any poly-inserts for my suspension either. just need two front ones, put them in the trunk and switch em at the track. get used to them and u should see 14's. im hoping to break 13's after my ecu tune, with my TIP on the as well. im sure u can find 2 stock 15's for cheap somewhere.
naw they are not low profile, I might just try 30psi first, then try 25psi...see how it does, thanx for the help.....Also I just might try find atleast some 16s.....but yeah, I'll see how it goes, cuz ive been running 35psi and get major wheel hop, like you won't believe

BTW at what RPm do u launch at?

yea 16's would b better too. i launch around 3500 - 3700rpm, with a slight slip of the clutch til i hit full spool. but u have a vr6 more torque, try 3K and go up from there. 15's or 16's would help alot, ud b surprised how u times change with a good launch. ive learned anything above a 16 inch rim in a fwd car, is hard to avoid wheel hop. get someother rims, the lower the tire psi and practice launches, takes sometime usually. like i said my tires look really low when im at the track, ive just found the right setup with tire psi and launch rpm's.

cuz i take off at 3k but also with 17s and 35psi...sooo ill just look for other rims, 16s and go from there

yea pick up a set of 15's or 16's, should make a hell of a difference.
LOL!, im only 16, and i can spell better then you can, then again this was long ago when msn was at it's peak.

You cant be talking trash as if you own this world.
Im smart enough not to push the car to 120mph+. thats just "str8" stupid.
Keep it clean, its a forum, not facebook.
