Hey guys, got my first VW 01 Jetta and it's great, clutch blew 2nd day with it, so my buddy and I put a centerforce clutch and a ACT prolite flywheel. Can't wait to get it up and running... We put everything back together, we went to start it.. And it won't start.. I turn the key and the engine turns over, but won't run.

My buddy is clueless so I thought I'd ask here.. Just incase it's happened before and someone had some ideas.

We did do this... We unplugged the intake and sprayed starter fluid and the engine will run for about 8 seconds.

Any ideas would be greatly apriciated...

Thanks,
Anthony

Damn 8 pounds is pushing the envelope lol. Glad you got it figured out.

Let me know how you like that flywheel! Some hate light ones, some love em'. Supposedly going up hills sucks, and they tend to make alot of noise.

Hey man, I love this flywheel. One of the best things I bought. Revs so much quicker, clutch feels great, shifting is mint.. I don't hear any noise... But Now that you mention it... I do have a problem on hills. I could never figure it out! Now you got me thinking.. What happens is, if my rpms are low on a hill, the car will buck really bad (not coming from engine). So maybe that's why.. because of my flywheel.. Damn that's interesting. But it only happens on steep hills. And I can easily resolve the issue by increasing the rpms.

And best of all, i'm known all over town for being the best "slow racer". We start at a stop, and put it into gear. It's a 1/8th of a mile race, and you can't use the gas pedal. You can only use the clutch, and shift. I don't know how it works, but I'm able to take off and shift through the gears with no gas.. And I get some good speed.

Unbeatable. 8lbs baby. Worth the steep hill buck. ;)

WTF?? lol how the hell does that even work?

Atleast you race from a stop... Forgive me for the crude metaphor, but racing from a roll is like masturbating. You might be really good at it, but its never the real thing lmao!:D
