im new i have a 1999 jetta gl thats the old body style and it has a decent problem that i would like help with but dont know where to post it. any advicwe would be great

my problem is that my car is getting horrible gas milage i have about 50-60 miles on this take of gas and im almost at half tank. is this normal? or do i have a right to be worried

Yes, you have every right to be worried. Depending on whether or not you want to fix the problem yourself, my first suggestion would be that the next time you fill your tank up check for leaks before you drive off from the gas station or park it soon there after and do the same. You'll know soon enough if you have a fuel leak or not. Does your car smoke at all? If you can't find a leak you should probably seek proffessional help as one or more of your injectors could be stuck, you could have a leak or any number of problems. It's inexpensive to have it checked, it's expensive to get it fixed.

Time for a tune up. Have the spark plugs/wires changed. Change the fuel and air filters too.

thanks guy me and my boy friend ae gonna take a look at it after easter we will try the air filter and look for leaks so if you have any thing else we can look at let me know

I agree..... I would try the checking the gas leak... get a tune up.... and see if that doesn't help out...
