I just baught a 2002 jetta VR6 and beautiful condition, Love the interior, especially the blue and red lighting. what my question is ,is under the hood... On top of my battery... there is a black box, with like 4-5 cables running in it. pretty thick wires. i have no idea what anything is since the dealership didnt give me an owners manual. so i have no clue what it is. My only guess is to the monsoon system? Another question i had was the car alarm. Is there a sensativity setting where i can make it more sensitive so it goes off if something hits my car? and as far as the headlights, why do they suck so bad? it slike i cant see far at all. i even upgraded to an ultra white bulb. are my headlights just angled down to far? i was going to do a HID conversion to a 8000k. or just wait an save up for projector headlights. if anyone can help that would be great! thanks!

Congrats on the Jetta... Looks clean from what I've seen so far...

I'm not sure about the Wires from the battery... All I can think would be Positive, Ground, and Monsoon; but I never really put much thought into it. Hopefully someone else will chime in on this, but I'll see what I can find for ya.

For the alarm... From what I understand, if you want to have it go off when something hits the car, you would need to add a shock sensor to the system. Most people just opt for adding a 3-rd party alarm (Not VW) when going this route.

Headlights... I had a similar problem with mine. Are yours yellowed and clouded at all? I cleaned mine up with some headlight restorer (plastic polish basically) and it helped a lot. Currently, I am looking to switch out my stock headlights for some "E-Code" ones. They have the European-spec light beam pattern, and from what I have seen they light up the road better.

Its not that i have bad headlights. there awsome. all clean. i have a photo here showing that.. but what im talking about is how far my lights spread across the road in distance. i dont get a good vision of the road unless i put my brights on then its really good. maybe my headlights are pointed down to far? is there a screw somewhere wher ei can adjust that? or should i jus tnot worry about it and get a HID conversion kit like i want or a whole new halo projector. thanks for the info on the car alarm. still trying to figure out what the wires are for in the box on top of my batter lol.

This box on top of the battery holds some fuses and I would believe would be the grounds as stated above.

that black box on ur batt...feeds power to the fuse box,radio/monsoon,anything else that pulls heavy power(depending on your cars options) o DONT take it off. the car doesnt like it...VW's are very sensitive i have learned be careful of your aftermarket parts and dont "cut" any corners when installing them. good luck.
