I am new to this site and new to owning a Jetta. I just bought a 2002 1.8L turbo GLS. The fuel economy is night and day from my Chevy Tahoe 4x4, as you can imagine.

What prompted you to buy a Jetta?

Yeah, the rims do look a bit alike.

I have always liked Jettas, and when it was time for me to look for a 3rd vehicle to use for commuting to work and back, jetta was at the top of my list. I also wanted a car that my wife would like to drive, just in case we decide to sell our Nissan Altima.

I was deciding between 1.8 liter and a vr6. I decided to go with the 1.8 ltr, but do love to hear arguments between the two.
