I have an '04 TDI GLS Automatic that I just bought and my best mileage so far has been 40 mpg with mixed city and highway driving. I pumped up my tires to 40 psi and am looking forward to see what I get from this tank.

I own a 06 Jetta TDI (6 speed auto) and drove it across Canada on the highway this summer. I went from London Ontario to Victoria B.C. Its a 55 litre tank and with the empty light on and 30 more KMs driven before we fueled we were at 1019 KMs driven on 52-55 litres of Diesel.

we have found with our TDis that you are good for another 100kms when the low fuel light comes on. I typcially find it's about 100 kms for every eighth of a tank and then plus whatever you can jam in above that (ventectomy / clicking the button)

2009 TDI (less than 1 month old) - while I wont make my 3rd fill-up till the weekend or early next week, so far I've registered a high of 49.3mpg on the highway and a mixed city/highway of 575miles on a tank.

I can see a tank of all highway miles easily getting 700+...
