I see a lot of MKIIIs out there with their side bumpers fallen off, and I wanted to tell you how I fixed mine. If you go to your local hardware store, you can pick up a 2-part epoxy like this one: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=152011-133-152011&lpage=none

Make sure you clean the part of the frame where the bumper is going and the bumper itself. Then you mix the epoxy and apply it to both surfaces. Once applied, you will need to press it for about 2 hours. What I did for this is get a piece of wood with one end cut at an angle. You put the angle part against the car and the other against the ground and just leave it there.

This is what I did when my side bumpers fell off about 4 years ago and they're still on there today with no signs off ever falling off again! Hope this is useful!
