I want to replace the center e brake console and arm rest on my '01 vr6...well I don't want the arm rest anymore. i took it all off and saw that the arm rest mount is removable. does anyone have any a e brake console with out the arm rest sticking up? maybe pictures?

yeah, in the base model jetta GL they dont have an arm rest. so the console just has an extra change dish cup. You can buy this style console off of ebay or from this site from someone that is parting a car or you can buy the plasic cover piece, which would act as another change dish cup.
