[VW325i]

I have an 08 Jetta and was wondering if someone could tell me what this sound is. When I open the driver side door, there is some kind of machine sound. It seems to be coming from the back seat area. It only last for 2 seconds, and only does it when I open the drivers door, after its been sitting for awhile.

i get the same exact sound and i can never figure out where it's coming from.
i can't really answer the question, but just think of it like it's a space ship or something and the car's getting ready to drive cause it knows you're getting in... that's a lot more sophisticated than "the car making a funny noise"

I get the same sound (only I called it a whirring noise) but it's normal, it's your fuel pump gearing up. Here's where I asked the same question when I first got mine:

Oh wow... Thanks. My 04 1.8 does this as well and I've always wondered what it was...
