I own a 2012 Jetta 2.5 se with 184k miles and the shifter is stuck in reverse. I tried opening the base of the shifter and pressed the yellow switch to release it but it goes back to reverse. A mechanic said I only need a new shifter but the problem is that his parts supplier (auto nation) only sells the shifter with the cable for over $600.00. Can someone help me find a website that specializes in VW parts on the cheap? I'm located in Orlando, FL and any help will be appreciated.
