Well this is just a opinion forum, alright well I have been wanting to get new tail lights because me being stupid when I first got my Jetta I wanted to be "cool" and wanted to black out my tail lights to the point where there so dark that it would technically be illegal in the US, but the police here doesn't really care that much about that. But recently I did get pulled over for my tail lights being to dark which I did not know quote on quote.

But before I did get pulled over I was already thinking of getting new tail lights, but I'm just really kinda stuck. So it's either going to be OEM Tail Lights for the 2000 Jetta Vr6:

Or Smoked Tail lights because I still do like that blacked out look but not to dark:

I am leaning towards the Clear Tail lights but I would like to hear everyone else opinion.

P.S. I most likely won't buy my new tail lights from ECS Tuning, so if anyone does know another website that is good either on the Exterior parts for MKIV Jetta's or OEM parts for MKIV Jetta's please let me know. But thank you for reading and if you do reply thank you for that as well!

Having taillights too dark or even having a blown fuse and not having your taillights working, would make you liable if you were to get rear ended.

I think only certain colored vehicles can pull off the smoked tail lights. If you have a picture of your Jetta, it would make it easier to give an opinion.
