So, I just picked up my 2008 Jetta S. Didnt want the SE mainly because I personally dont care for leather, sun roof, or a 6disc changer in the trunk. Otherwise it came with all the other upgrades, heated everything, power everything etc.

My question is this, which tires do you guys recommend for these car's for strictly winter driving. I have heard the German car's have a bit more weight to em, i'm planning on picking up the necessities for the car before doing anything else to it.

And, for more info I am in Alaska.

Heavier = better in the snow.

I run dunlop snow tires. They're pretty good. Expensive as hell though... $440 for 2 tires.

Great life to them, and great traction. $440 is worth my life with upstate NY winters. Marty knows whats up lol
