Weird noise on Low rev

Hello all. I'm experiencing some weird noise when slowly accelerate my 2013 2.0 TSI (211 hp) on very low engine revolutions. From 950 to 1200 RPM, there is a "old car noise" coming from the top of the engine block. VCDS reading pointed Crankshaft position sensor error, so I switched it to a brand new, but the noise persisted. I noticed that if I disconnect that same sensor (unplug the cable) the weird noise stops promptly. When I reconnect, it takes a few seconds for the sensor to initialize, then the noise comes back. Any thought on what might be the problem?
