im in the process of getting a 2000 1.9l and im not sure about which exact motor it is how can i find out??

carfax the vin # and it tells you what you need to need

I didn't know they made a 1.9L in jettas.... thought it was either a 1.8 1.8turb or a 2 slow....... anyways probably search the vin number..

You have what's called an ALH TDI engine. Different model years have different TDI engines. The ALH engine just happens to be extremely tunable!

All the diesels are 1.9l in the MK4s and up. I have a 2004 jetta and it has whats called a PD motor. Little different than the ALHs.
