Check all your fluids first, then get it scanned asap at a independent vw shop. It does not have to have a check engine light on it to have stored codes. Don't guess. I went through this a year ago and it threw a hidden crank sensor code.

Thank you for advice, very much appreciated but unfortunately I did have it scanned,it's not throwing any codes . Also very very recently changed crank sensor. All fluids are good. Compression good,wires and plugs are new,coils are good. Does a very slight hesitation when taking off and occasionally when re-engaging accelerator after releasing the clutch when changing gear. Unsure if it's relevant to limp mode situation or not but is seemingly the only other issue the car seems to have aside from ecu light occasionally coming on.

Thank you for the advice, yesterday I had it done again with a different scanner and got 2 codes , 442,456. A evap system leak (small and very small) . Any suggestions on where to start investing this? I really don't want to and can't afford to do unnecessary repairs right now but unfortunately it is quite urgent the problem is rectified quickly. I appreciate any sound advice achieve the desired results!

The car does not rev at high rpm at all. Has no power or acceleration at all. I've discovered I need to replace the Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid, is it possible that this is the main issue Causing me these problems or am I looking at something more to repair?

No I don't but ever since I bought the car whenever I put gas in it, it doesn't want to start after , whether I put 10$ or fill it ,it never wants to start. That's I think purge valve needs replacing. But the car ran fine afterwards. It was not completely powerless and did not bog like it oes now.

I don't believe it any longer in limp mode because I can reach speeds over noww 70 km / hr now but it takes kms to do so. It's crazy how long it takes for me to get up to 90 km .
